One of the fifth grade IB Exhibition projects this year was to build a Little Free Library for our school grounds. One group partnered with Marriott Hotel's community outreach executives. Here'e a picture of the meeting (Kaylin missing from picture) and their message to our students and commitment to our school.
Hailey took the challenge to make a movie about our Media Center for School Library Month!! She was an incredible movie maker! Go Hailey!
The E. Rivers media center is a place where children can come to find great books, a place to read, play, explore, build, create, wonder and hang out with their friends. There is never a dull moment in the media center!
In honor of Women's History Month our girls dressed up like Rosie the Riviter. Rosie the Riviter is a symbol of strength. During WW II when many men had to leave for war and many women went to work to fill the vacant jobs left by our soldiers.
Women Can Do it! We can do whatever we set our hearts to do. Right Girls!
FLIP THROUGH THE SLIDE SHOW TO SEE THE PICTURES!
We received a Donors Choose grant for Library Look Up stations! Students can now easily look up books they are interested in on the media center catalog, find the call number and then find the book on the shelf in the media center independently! The students are loving the freedom these look up stations provide.
